Of course, we regularly send Paulownia all around Australia. We will organise everything to make this a simple process. Because our timber is so light it is quite inexpensive to send, but it does depend on where you are located. As an example if you are in Melbourne or Brisbane etc. this might only be about $50 for a few planks of timber.
If we can cut your timber to a desired size, such as less than 1m in length we can also send with Australia Post which is fast and economical.

While we don’t have a fancy showroom you are welcome to come visit and have a look. We can also send you samples if you are looking to purchase Paulownia for architectural/construction purposes.

Yes, it is one of the most eco-friendly materials available. Paulownia is recognized globally as the fastest-growing hardwood, reaching harvest maturity in just 5 to 8 years. Our Paulownia is sourced from well managed plantations. What makes it uniquely sustainable is its ability to be harvested through a regenerative forestry practice called coppicing. Instead of uprooting the tree, it is cut at the base, allowing a new tree to grow rapidly directly from the existing stump and root system. This means a single planting can yield multiple generations of timber over decades. Coppicing eliminates the need for constant clearing and replanting, protects the soil structure from erosion, and ensures continuous carbon sequestration.
Product and ordering questions
What sizes of Paulownia VJ lining boards do you sell?
Our standard size is 90×10 mm, which gives 80 mm of coverage. Standard lengths are 2.4 m as a single piece, with longer lengths available using finger joints. Other sizes are available, so contact us for a quote.
How much VJ lining board do I need per square metre?
The 90×10 mm board covers 80 mm, so you need 12.5 lineal metres per m². At $5.00 per L/M that is $62.50 per m², dropping to $56.25 per m² above 100 L/M and $50.00 per m² above 500 L/M. All prices include GST.
Are the lining boards finished?
No. They are supplied raw and unfinished but smooth and ready to use. Many customers prefer this for van fitouts and tiny homes because of concerns about VOCs. Paulownia is stable and takes a variety of finishes. For large orders we can also supply the boards finished and ready to install with a high quality polyurethane finish.
Can I get a sample before I order?
Yes. We are happy to supply samples of our lining boards so you can see the quality for yourself, and you are welcome to visit us in Hornsby NSW and look at the timber.
What sizes do your rough sawn planks come in?
Our standard stock is 58×250 mm in 2.0, 2.2, 2.5 and 3.0 m lengths. Most have a dressed face and a skip-dressed face with sawn edges. Lengths above 2.5 m (up to 4 m) have limited availability.
Can you supply custom or made-to-order sizes?
Yes. We can dress timber to order up to 50×250×3000 mm as standard, with longer lengths and custom profiles on request. Our four-sided moulder takes a maximum width of 230 mm. See the Prices page for standard made-to-order sizes and minimum orders.
Is there a minimum order for the edge-glued sheets?
Sheets are sold singly in our store. For delivery anywhere in Australia, please order at least 5 sheets, in any mix of 2mm, 4mm and 6mm, to cover the cost of packaging and cover sheets. There is no minimum for collection.
What size are your alaia and paipo blanks?
Alaia blanks are 24×600×2400 mm and paipo blanks are 24×600×1200 mm, made from Paulownia strips glued with a fully waterproof polyurethane adhesive. The alaia blank allows boards up to about 7ft 10in. We also offer a CNC outline cutting service for $20 per blank.
Do you offer trade or bulk pricing?
Yes. We offer wholesale pricing for larger commercial orders and further discounts on volume lining board orders. Get in touch with what you need and we will put a quote together.
Do you supply schools?
Yes. We support purchase orders and NET30 payment terms for schools, and we supply surf hand plane blanks and CNC-cut project kits that suit technology and TAS classes.
Where are you located and can I collect?
We are in Hornsby, NSW. You can collect your timber from us, or we can organise low-cost delivery anywhere in Australia.
