Shipping and Delivery

Fast, good-value delivery of Paulownia timber anywhere in Australia, or free pickup from Hornsby, NSW.

We send Paulownia timber, sheets and blanks to customers all around Australia every week. Because we ship a lot of packages, we have access to very good freight rates, and in most cases delivery costs are much lower than people expect.

Small items: Australia Post

Items that are 1 metre or less in length (for example surf handplane kits, cut-down sheets, lure and guitar blanks, and samples) are sent with Australia Post. Postage is calculated at checkout or included in your quote, and you will receive a tracking number once your order is on its way.

Longer items: individual freight quotes

Anything longer than 1 metre, such as planks, full-length 2400mm sheets, VJ lining boards, alaia blanks and strip planking, is too long for Australia Post, so we quote freight for each order individually.

  • We compare at least three freight providers for every quote to make sure you get the best value for your delivery.

  • Our volume rates keep costs down: because we send so much freight, the rates we can offer are usually very reasonable.

  • Depot collection can save you money: if delivery to your door proves expensive (for example in rural or remote areas), you can often save by collecting from your nearest freight depot. We will let you know if this is an option.

To get a freight quote, submit the quote request form or email info@paulowniatimber.com.au with what you would like to order, your delivery suburb and postcode, and whether the address is residential or commercial. We will reply with the best price available.

Free pickup from Hornsby, NSW

You are welcome to collect your order from us in Hornsby, NSW, at no charge. Please contact us first to arrange a pickup time.

Dispatch times

We aim to dispatch stocked items promptly after payment. Custom-machined and made-to-order items take longer, and we will give you an estimated timeframe when you order. Delivery times depend on the carrier and your location.

Packaging

Thin sheets are protected with coversheets on both sides and packed in oversized cardboard boxes. Sheets are sold singly in our store. For delivery anywhere in Australia, please order at least 5 sheets, in any mix of 2mm, 4mm and 6mm, to cover the cost of packaging and cover sheets. There is no minimum for collection.

Receiving your order

Please check your order as soon as it arrives. If anything is damaged in transit or not what you ordered, contact us within 7 days with photos so we can make it right. See our returns and refund policy.
